A day out in DC

It was time to finally made a stop at the Renwick Gallery and the Hirshhorn. The weather was scorching so hiding out in the air condition was a welcome break.

We started out with the Ai Weiwei exhibit at the Hirshhorn, he created this never ending wallpaper which includes Alpacas, twitter birds, handcuffs, and video surveillance.

These portraits are of individuals who have led some form of protest again their governments, many of these people are now missing, or have been imprisoned.

After a quick bite for lunch we made our way to the Renwick Gallery. It showcases American crafts and decorative arts. This was definitely more in my alley, seeing the time and work put in to some of these pieces was impressive.

Definitely do not miss this beautiful exhibit as you walk up the main stairs.

A whole new meaning to spy decoder ring.

Recognize the bag? Definitely more than just a happy meal.
